Call for CSSA presidential candidate
Chinese Students and Scholars Association is seeking nominations for
the 2011-2012 president. We sincerely invite those of you who wish to
serve Chinese community at Cornell to stand out and campaign for the
next president of CSSA.
The nomination statistics will be announced after the deadline (March
15th, 2011). The election steering committee will evaluate all
nominations and hold a public election for all candidates. All CSSA
members are entitled to vote in the election.
Please send your name, contact number, brief self-introduction
and proposal to Election Steering Committee’s emailbox
(electioncommittee2011@gmail.com) at or before 11:59 am March 15th
(Tuesday), EST.
On March 28th, a debate among all candidates will be held by the election steering committee. The exact time and location will be
announced soon. The voting will start on March 29th and end at April 1st 11:59pm. The final result will be
announced on April 2nd. There’ll be another email on the voting instruction later.
Cornell CSSA President is the chief operating officer of CSSA at Cornell.
As president, you will:
* have a chance to serve the Chinese community
* take a challenge and have a rewarding experience
* enrich your life at Cornell and know more people with different backgrounds
* improve your interpersonal and organizational skills
Your responsibilities include:
* setting up the 2011-2012 CSSA committee
* coordinating CSSA events and ensuring the overall functioning of CSSA
* serving as the primary spokesperson for CSSA
* raising fund for CSSA
* serving a full term of one year
Basic requirement:
* must be a full-time Cornell student before the end of his term (May 2011)
* show dedication & enthusiasm to serve the Chinese students and
scholars community
